This manual is intended as a guide for those interested in the position of a festival Executive Dramaturg. Many works exist that explore the ideology of Dramaturgy; however, this work is designed to lead the reader through the actual festival process from start to finish. The author of this work has spent the last two and a half years studying and experiencing both the position of a festival dramaturg as well as the position of a festival Executive Dramaturg. The author has also spent a considerable amount of time working with dramaturgs in various production positions. This work is the culmination of that process.
