open in viewerIn collaboration with General Electric Aviation, the team was tasked to optimize two waste treatment processes: Brush Nickel Plating and Wastewater Treatment. For the former process, equipment updates and rinsing techniques were suggested to minimize contamination; and for the latter, several recommendations were made based on testing for maximum heavy metal removal through flocculation based on chemical usage, pH control, stirring and settling times. Finally, a cost analysis was performed to confirm the feasibility of implementation of the aforementioned methods.
