PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis Interactive Qualifying Project studied historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the City of Boston in order to assess the socioeconomic impact that historic designation has on designated neighborhoods. Using undesignated areas of the city as a control, various economic, social, and population indicators were studied to gauge the impact of national register designation. The study concluded that there was a positive socioeconomic impact on designated districts and areas directly surrounding the districts.
