CS: MQP: Harrison: ReVISit-ing the Classics: Evaluating A Framework for Replicable Data Visualization Experiments
Public DepositedPeople use visualization to better understand information that is important to them. With visualization, effective mapping between visual channels and data play a key role in bridging the gap between the intended meaning of a visual’s creator and the meaning assumed by an observer. In this major qualifying project, we contribute to the development, testing and community building of a framework for building visualization experiments through the creation and application of various participant tests, such as through the construction of a feedback experiment to find the closest association between graphical coloration and implicit meaning as inferred by participants.
