Friday, June 25, 1937 Clear/Rain Terribly hot and humid. 990 again. Drove to Peoria with Rohnback & Kirby. 65 college professors and 28 students were guests of Catipillar Tractor Co to attend and experimentalschool. The whole Catipillar organization took part. Claude Heacock president of Catipillar is starting said that Colleges turned graduates out as finished material while industry received them as raw material And some way to have the Colleges go further was his idea. We went thru the factories where the heat was almost unbearable. Lunch and dinner there, leaving at 7 in a welcome thunder shower This school is somehting that may be asked of the industry and I was there as an observer. Cornhasgrown several inches today.
