Artemisia annua L. GRAS Research.
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerArtemisia annua L. is the source of the extract artemisinin which is commonly used in the treatment of malaria. However, recent research has shown that the consumption of the dried leaf material instead of extracts is actually more effective in the treatment of malaria. The goal of this project is to research and collect evidence which includes chemical composition, clinical trials and expert opinions that could be used in a GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) application to the FDA for A. annua.
