Technocopia is a community makerspace in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts. The makerspace usually requires paid membership for use of the equipment and space for personal or work projects. Technocopia also works with different groups and organizations within the Worcester community including the Worcester Public Library, Creative Hub Worcester, the Worcester Business Improvement District, Worc Lab, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and more. One new group they have begun to work with is the Hector Reyes House (HRH). The Hector Reyes House is a residential substance use treatment center for Latino males. Together they support the Hector Reyes House Technocopia (HRHT) program which allows some of the men in the Hector Reyes House program to take classes and learn about different tool shops in the makerspace. Eventually, the HRH men will have the chance to become members of Technocopia and use the space independently. This Interactive Qualifying Project documents the first round of this program.
