Growth inhibitors regulate adult rat hepatocyte proliferation
PublicPast experimental data has suggested that some unknown growth factor expressed by adult but not young rat hepatocytes is responsible for arresting proliferation. To begin to identify this growth factor, this project utilizes a method recently pioneered by Clontech Laboratories called Suppression Subtractive Hybridization (SSH) to compare RNA sequences found in young and adult rat hepatocytes. Future projects will use the acquired data to eventually clone and identify the functional growth factor.
