IPW K2SL: Reducing Ambulance Dispatch Time

open in viewerThe purpose of this project is to understand communication and transportation delays among the departments, first responders and healthcare systems involved in processing and responding to medical emergency 911 calls, and to develop technological solutions that will improve ambulance response times. In order to achieve this, the entire 9-1-1 - call process was examined. This involved studying the different types of EMS models and transportation methods. The project presents the various 9-1-1 systems and response methods employed across the United States.
