Tuesday, August 12, 1941 Clear/Rain [Headlines: Boston Herald;World news] [Signature: James [Cummings?] Barr] [Drawing: The Barr Home] Elise and I drove to New Imswich this afternoon to the meeting of the Princeton Historical Society. Two beautiful old places were opened. The Barrett and Barr houses. Beautiful old furniture. Mother Kate & Kitty came up for dinner. Bill telephoned at noon that he could get Hardy Pfeffen to drive him over for dinner, so the two boys came and Betty Allen too. Bill seemed much more cheerful and what a relief to us. He has not orders as yet but 500 go to South Carolina tomorrow. He had K.P. duties tomorrow. [Headlines: Evening Gazette; World news]
