Public DepositedTUESDAY JUNE 29 1948 In field all day with about 40 men at the Experimental Farm. The meeting was to try out in the field the various small tractors plowing and cultivating. Massey-Harris Pony Small Avery. IHC cub, Jacques Mighty mite, "M" and 2 #101's. In plowing all except Jacques did pretty well, but the plow on the 101 had the advantage of clearence by not having a long long beam. In cultivating the only tractor that could compare at all was the IH cub with off set motor; both Charley Wiman & Charley Stone thought the Cub made a pretty good cultivating tractor but not equal to the 101. Present were.B.F.Peek, C.B.Wiman, C.H.Stone, L.A.Murphy, LA. Rowland, C.H.White, Schulz, Hi Park, Cy Washburn, Sid Farnham,Hubbard, Bopf, Ted Parker, Myron Burton, Lou Paradise, Ken Anderson, Dan Heitslin, Elmer McCormick, Nordenson, Trump, McCall, Wormley, Jean Whitson, Bill Cade, Ben Butterworth, TedJohnson, Walter Silver, John Deffenbaugh, Claud Walz, Virgil Bozeman Bill Oehke, Herman Altgelt, Keith Scholfield, Lucky Holt, Maurice Block, Halton, George Marriott, and half a dozen Plow Whs men. I think the demonstration shows us that the#101 has great possibilities. Of course no decision was made but the M.H. Avery & Jacques showed up very poorly. The Cub did pretty well, but thought 101 better. The Cades left for Dubuque at 630
