open in viewerLinux's recent surge in popularity has caused many professionals to wonder if it is to become a serious competitor in the business operating system market. This project combines research with in-depth qualitative interviews of industry leaders to find the answer; today, Linux is not a suitable business solution but with its current rate of growth and refinement it will be. It has also revealed that Linux's potential success could change the fundamental software engineering paradigm that is in practice today.
