FRONT MOUNTING BICYCLE ATTACHMENT FOR IMPROVED ACCESSIBILITY OF ADULT PASSENGERS
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerCurrently, no bicycle attachments are capable of transporting an adult passenger in front of a bicycle, which would significantly improve the passenger's range of vision and enjoyment. The goal of this project was to design a front mounting device that could accommodate adult passengers, including those with limited mobility, and could be adjusted to attach to different sized bicycle frames. The device frame was built out of 1" aluminum tubing and galvanized steel fittings and was attached to the bicycle through a compressive attachment mechanism. The driver's steering intuition was maintained through a 1:1 ratio in the steering linkages.
