Unity power factor design of a non-feedback type boost converter

Public

The goal of this MQP is to modify an existing unity power factor ac to dc converter by replacing a current feedback and using a new technique of modulated switching pulses. Such converter is meant to be used with a constant load. Hence, on open loop design was combined with a predetermined modulator of the pulses that lead to a line current almost sinusoidal and in phase with the voltage. Theoretical models and experimental measures were found in excellent agreement.
