ELECTROHYDRODYNAMIC CONDUCTION PUMPING IN MICRO-SCALE WITH TWO PHASE FLOW

The heat transfer requirements in order to regulate operating temperatures in high power electronics stems from the technological advancements of miniaturizing systems.Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) conduction pumps can be utilized for micro-scale thermal control. EHD conduction pumps are advantageous in the sense that they are simple in design, have no moving parts, require lower power to operate, and is able to be used in microgravity. This project offers performance characteristics such as pressure and flow rate generation in micro-scale for a single phase flow based on an EHD pump consisting of three electrode pairs. These electrode pairs comprise of a flush ring ground electrode and two 400 micron perforated high voltage electrodes.
