6° below zero this morning Saturday Jan. 17 1948 Elise returned from St. Louis early this morning. At Dr Kountz office she met Mabel Todd and had lunch with her. Elise went to the Mackays for dinner. Elise and I cleared out the fruit cellar this morning descarded many bottles & jars etc etc getting the place ready for the deep freeze cabinet. We took Lee & Bill to the Davenport Club for dinner. Very cold today
