open in viewerIn this project, a 12-week stock market simulation was conducted. Each team member was responsible for $100,000 to invest with. Three methods—swing trading, position trading, and trend following—were used to achieve maximum profit. Research was conducted to understand the stock market and the trading methods so that the simulation could be performed effectively and accurately. Results were then compared and analyzed to determine the best ways to become successful investors. Simulation results indicated that swing trading portfolio generated a total profit of $31,227.25, 31% return for the 12-week simulation, while position trading and trend following only saw gains of $13,700.81 (13.7%) and $11,380.91 (11.4%), respectively. This project has provided every member with valuable information about the stock market and will certainly be helpful with trading for the foreseeable future.
