Student Work
Social Entrepreneurship at Worcester Polytechnic Institute
PublicSocial entrepreneurship (SE) is the use of entrepreneurial principles to create sustainable social value. This study assesses the feasibility of initiating a SE program at WPI. - Student surveys, a focus group, and faculty interviews demonstrated a general lack of understanding of SE. A deeper analysis, however, demonstrated that students and faculty members are interested in SE, especially in the form of sustainability and related fields. This study recommends the gradual implementation of a SE program through extracurricular and academic avenues.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
