The goal of this project was to develop and analyze a process for evaluating the suitability of potential wind farm sites. The suitability models and criteria are based on the previous studies of societal and environmental concerns. These criteria include Roads and Access, Soils and Topography, Land-Use and Visual Impact. The two outputs of this project are a process for the evaluation of potential wind farms sites using digital GIS data and the results of this process as applied to the Massachusetts area.
