24068 FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 5 1947 Elise and I closed the house and left at 830 this morning. We stopped to see Ernest Witcomb at Amherst. He showed us around Amherst; the beautiful library and the college. Then he showed us throught his house 140 years old. It is a beautiful and elaborate place. We stayed half an hour. We took #66 from Northampton to Huntington and 20 to Pittsfield. Reached Mildred Todds at 530 3011/2 miles [Signatures: Jod M. Meatyard Mildred B Todd Josephine B. Butler Elizabeth Meatyard] Mildred took us all to the Onandaga Country Club for dinner.
