UTRECHTSEWEG 98 B ARNHEM (Holland) November 16 1949 Dear Mr Brown Perhaps you will have heard from Mrs Sack, that her husband has been concemned to 3 years imprisonment by the Communistic Judge in Leipzig. The one year Mr sack has now spent in prison will be taken into account, so that now he must still remain two years in prison. At the same time he has lost all his properties to the State of East Germany. It is unvelievable that a good man like Mr. Hans Sack should be treated that way. It will be very hard for him and for Mrs Sack to wait for his liberation during the comingtwo years. During my visit in Leipzig in September 1949, I visited Mrs Sack. She is most thank- ful for the many CARE packages which you have sent her through the intermediary of Mr. Arthur Finger, Brotteroderstrasse 35, Berlin Lankwitz. You will be glad to hear that Mrs Sack has been able to get a portion of your good food to her husband. With kindest greetings, I remain Yours very sincerely G. Riemer
