PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThe indigenous people of New Mexico have expressed a need for the improvement of planning and design in their communities. This requires improving the education received by students in planning programs. The Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe, New Mexico, believes that a certificate program providing this education is worthwhile for their institution. Through interviews, and focus groups, a methodology consisting of evaluation tools, and surveys was developed. A framework was established for a program providing students with the knowledge necessary to prosper in their role as a planner for an indigenous community.
