Public DepositedTUESDAY MARCH 11 1947 Went to Chicago on the ten oclock Rocket for an afternoon meeting of the F.E.I. Safety Co. I still seem to be chairman. The full committee were present. Cap Ross, Kranick, Scranton, Young present also Ed Tanquay, Galen Winter & Robt. Jones. Deere & Co are prepared to give their share which would be $7500 and more if necessary. The purpose of the meeting ws to see what could be done to get the other companies to do their share in support of the Farm Division of the National Safety Council. The amount of $50 per million of sales was set as the goal. The Safety Council has been of immense help ub combating bad legislation and every one knows it should be supported but it seems hard to put the campaign over. John Young and Tanquay of IHC said they thought they could put the matter before IH so a contribution would be made. I hope the meeting was of some help. Bob Jones thinks I am more pessimistic that the situation warrants. Home on 5 Rocket.
