Acadia National Park Carbon Footprint
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis paper discusses the carbon footprint of Acadia National Park for the 2018 calendar year. In the paper, the work completed to collect emission data throughout the park is demonstrated. This 2018 carbon footprint was benchmarked against a published study conducted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute students in 2016, and against an average Climate Friendly Park. Moreover, the park’s administration was provided with effective and sustainable recommendations to monitor and reduce the park’s carbon footprint. The recommendations focused on the monitoring of the park’s emissions, the park’s vehicle fleet, purchased electricity, and mobile emissions.
