Public DepositedSATURDAY SEPT. 25 1948 I made two wooden boats for the kiddies this morning. I probably will never again stand as high in their estimation again as they were watching me pooh said "Popo can do anything." I put smoke stacks on the boats which they called "horns." Lee & Bill looked at houses morning and afternoon. In afternoon Elise and I led the Blackhawk hike. It was around the new Experimental farm over 80 there. Pooh & Brother were on the hike. Keith Scholfield brought the #101 tractor out there and many cultivated & plowed with it. Pooh and Brother each drove it. In evening the four of us went to the wedding of BarbaraGetz and William Mannon and the very large reception later. Henry Lord told me how very pleased he was that Bill Cade was coming with them at French & Hecht. He felt Bill could do them a lot of good. [Newspaper clipping: BLACKHAWK HIKERS VISIT DEERE FARM]
