Letter from Hans Sack Dec 8-47 Leipzig 35 Am Ritterschloschen 22 Dear Mr Brown At the first week end in December I find the opportunity and the rest to write again to you. At first I want to thank you for all what you have done for my family in the last year. Specially the last package, which Mrs Brown had sent from your summer resort at Wachusett Road, and the house hold-Care-package, which reached us both in September, were a great help for us. My wife wrote immediately to Mrs Brown how thankful she was for your sending. I hope, that this letter from the 7th of October did reach you. What you did for my family and what so many other Americans have done for other friends and relatives and even for unknown other Germans and what your nation has done for the relief in Germany in general, is an example is an example for the spirit of Pratical Christian Charity. All that has made a deep impression on the up growing of younger Germans. My eldest son, who is now studying agricultural at a college near Stuttgart and the second boy too who studies mechanical engineering in Darmstadt& both cities in the American occuppied zone of Germany~are writing me how glad they are that they have an American library in both cities and a discussing club where they can hear and learn, what is ging on in the other part of the world. With the beet harvesing season finished, I have a little bit of more rest in my business occupation now. We had an extreme year in 1947 in whole Europe
