The Mohists (ca. 500 - 200 BC) -- ancient Chinese logicians
PublicThe Mohists (ca. 500-200 BC) were the first logicians of China. Their founder, Mo Di, used an argumentative technique to counter the assertions of other philosophers. The Mohists used the tools of rational argument as a basis to establish an organized logical system for the investigation of the natural world. Their decline was caused by the book burning campaign of Shi Huang from 221-210 BC and the pedagogical standardization of the Han Dynasty's Grand Academy in 124 BC.
