Developing Strategies for Characterization of Cellular Senescence
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerCellular senescence is a tumor suppressive mechanism that limits growth of human cells by causing cell cycle arrest in G1 phase. Senescence has been of wide interest in recent years because of its link to human cancers. The onset of senescence is caused by repression of transcription through the remodeling of chromatin. This project is focused on developing strategies to identify the role of three chromatin regulating proteins implicated in senescence--ASF1a, ARID4B, and prohibitin.
