Image 105 of Theo Brown Diaries, 1948
Public DepositedFRIDAY MARCH 19 1948 Fred Schott, Verge VanVinter and George Sumption here all day. Made 4 seat cushions in all. Wayne Worthington here all day with them. The seat they made for the model A tractor using a ply wood base did not test out better than the regular seat when running over 2"x4" timbers. The men thought a flexi-base would help and make the seat somewhat bucket shaped. The seats made for the M tractor with a flexible base of 2" wide binding gave a smoother ride than the regular bladder seat and was felt to be a very distinct improvement. Worthington is to arrange to send a tractor to Mishawaka so they can try out the seats there. They propose to do this and bring on some sample seats as soon as they can. Worthington is very much interested and thinks these seats are in the right direction. Elise and I took Charley & Pattie Wiman to the Smorgasbord at the Town Club and to to our house later.
