Equpiment for mowers. Aug 29 '11 Knife making machinery #19 Bliss Press for [Image: Sketch] putting 2 holes in sections. This press could be equipped (equipt ?)with a magazine so that the blanks could be fed in automatically. A press to blank out the sections a strip of steel [Image: Sketch of bridgelike structure] like this is used. Buckley & sections are .078 thick. Sections are ground on the sides of largewet grindstones two sections being ground at a time. The hardening is good by oil furnaces in which the sections are fed through automatically. The two edges are the only parts of a section that are hard. The eneter is soft. The knife back is apparently punched. The sections & head are pressed on under a press. Your new 8 foot press being the very thing needed. After the knives are made they are straightened by hand -a very particular job.
