350 SUNDAY December 16 Clear Over 800 warm and springlike. It makes me sleepy. Looked up John Charles Thomas at the St Charles he was eating breakfast with a James Wolf who is writing an opera. John said he had a definte off to appear in a movie of [Jess La Fitte ?]. Also said he had been under the weather fortwo weeks Liked to talk of his boat. Bot Elise's poem and told Wolf the whole story. At the John Deere Plow Co office for an hour then we walked thru the French quarter to the cathedral & Museum. In afternoon I went for a 21/2 hour trip on the Capitol up the river to the new gridge whichHuey Longis building over the river. The uncompleted span hangs in mid stream.
