Monday, March 17, 1941 Clear [Headlines: Honolulu Advertiser; War News] This morning Mrs Colin Stodd took the Blounts, Elise and I to Pearl Harbor where we saw the large naval base. Much of the navy is quartered here and it is a great sight. It covers ever so much territory. At noon Lee came and had lunch with us. We went to the Kodak Co where my first three movie films were ready and were projected for us. They are pretty good. Then with Lee we went to the Lester McCoy Estate and went thru their place which was opened for the benefit of the Red Cross. Took 9 colored pictures. At 3 we met the Blounts and they asked us to go out in their outrigger canoe to come in on the breakers. there were 5 of us with Lee besides the two Hawaiians. We rode the waves three times, one time we swamped. It as very exciting. At 5 we went on a picnic at the "Blow" given by the Bertaines and Worlss. 15 in all.
