open in viewerThis project sought to determine if there is an environmental justice concern for Worcester park governance and the types of partnerships that are critical to the success of green space organizations. To answer our first objective, we conducted interviews with 13 park representatives and 5 city officials, created spatial maps for the diversity and income of each park, and evaluated budgetary information. We determined that the funds for parks, while limited, are increasing and distributed with no regards to race or income. Through interviews, we evaluated the partnerships and organizational resources associated with green space benefit. We concluded that safety, programming, and financial partnerships are critical for immediate improvements to the usage and quality of green space.
