Expression and purification of SDF1- for analysis and evaluation of chemotactic response in cancer cells

Public

Recent research suggests that the absence of the chemokine SDF1- plays a role in the initiation and progression of cancer. Our lab attempted to produce large quantities of SDF1- for testing, analysis, and evaluation of its properties as a possible cancer therapeutic. SDF1- was successfully expressed and partially purified. It was also tested for chemotaxis of various cancer cells. It was found that SDF1- does not induce chemotaxis in all cancer cell lines.
