Breathing It In: A Review of Indoor Airborne Microplastics Research
Public DepositedDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis project was conducted in association with the BioNanomaterials Group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute, in Fribourg, Switzerland. The aim was to obtain a complete picture of existing research on indoor airborne microplastics, and provide recommendations for improvements to future research. We performed a literature review and conducted semi-structured interviews with relevant professionals in order to gain a complete perspective on the current state of the field. This insight was used to inform a set of recommended practices for future research, including particle and method standardization, in addition to a call for increased transparency between microplastic research groups. This report is accompanied by a set of tables containing information used in the literature review.
