The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) hosts an annual engineering competition known as Formula SAE (FSAE). The competition assumes a fictitious company wishes to produce a car that a racing enthusiast could purchase for $25,000 and use at a casual track setting. To calculate the production cost, a cost report was completed. The completed cost report was filed according to the guidelines mandated by the SAE and sent to their headquarters by the required deadline. - The cost report was completed by calculating the material cost, process cost, fastener cost, and tooling cost for every component of the race car. In order to facilitate this, the car was divided into a group of assemblies, which were then decomposed into smaller sub-assemblies.

• This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
