open in viewerThe objective of this project was to understand how to manage a cross-disciplinary team of engineers focusing on team dynamics, engineering design and subsequent construction of a Firefighting Robot. The rationale for completing this project was to utilize management techniques and strategies to help a team of engineers. The State-of-the-Art of managing a team of engineers draws from Project Management in Civil Engineering. The methods used include SMART, Axiomatic Design, Gantt and PERT charts, a Critical Path Analysis, and a Risk Analysis. The results and conclusion illustrates that the addition of an MGE to an engineering design team provided support and management in areas of project strategy, engineering design, timelines, budget, and overall project completion.
