open in viewerCleaning a burn wound is an essential part of a burn patient's recovery process. Practically every necrotic tissue removal method currently available is either very time consuming, painful, non-selective or puts the patient at a high risk for infection. This project focuses on understanding the human skin structure, the classification of burns and their pathogenesis, and wound treatment in ambulatory and also hospital settings. As a result of the research, a preliminary design of robotic debridement device is presented.
