PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis report, sponsored by MarViva, presents a socioeconomic profile of the towns of Palito and Montero on Chira Island in Costa Rica. We conducted surveys and interviews with the community members to help MarViva understand the effects of sustainable fishing on the local economies and the lifestyles of the people. Through our field work, we gathered the necessary socioeconomic information to provide an analysis for each town and developed recommendations for MarViva and the townspeople about approaches to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the two towns.
