Analysis and Mitigation of Harmonics in Wind Turbine Transformers
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThe goals of this project are to study the effects of current harmonics generated by a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) and to create a reduced scale proof-of-concept of a single phase active filtering system designed to reduce non-fundamental current harmonics up to the 13th harmonic. The DFIG study was done through modeling of the system using PSPICE. The active filter was then designed to measure non-linear current and generates a correction current to negate the non-fundamental harmonics via an H-Bridge circuit.
