open in viewerIn this project, we designed and implemented a prototype device that harvests vehicular kinetic energy and converts it to electrical energy. The proposed solution is a three phase permanent magnetic generator capable of producing 15 volts from a car moving 60 mph while only imposing .06 Gs on the vehicle. This energy is fed through a custom built circuit that converts the voltage from AC to DC and can power roadside infrastructure.
