Breathing It In: A Review of Indoor Airborne Microplastics Research
Public DepositedThis project was conducted in association with the BioNanomaterials Group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute, in Fribourg, Switzerland. The aim was to obtain a complete picture of existing research on indoor airborne microplastics, and provide recommendations for improvements to future research. We performed a literature review and conducted semi-structured interviews with relevant professionals in order to gain a complete perspective on the current state of the field. This insight was used to inform a set of recommended practices for future research, including particle and method standardization, in addition to a call for increased transparency between microplastic research groups. This report is accompanied by a set of tables containing information used in the literature review.
