open in viewerThis project is a six-week stock market simulation. The goal of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of day trading and trend following strategies. Using real-time stock prices and the Investopedia simulator, both strategies were tested with a starting investment of $100,000. The day trading strategy achieved a final 4.60% return, while the trend following strategy resulted in a final 7.17% return. Both strategies were benchmarked against the S&P 500 index, which experienced a 5.54% increase over the simulation period. The results indicated that the trend following strategy provided more consistent returns with lower volatility compared to day trading. This project offered valuable insights into trading strategies, market analysis, and risk management.
