Analysis of 2 ras genes in C. elegans

Public

In C. elegans, the ras genes interact with mig-10 in regulation of neuron migration and excretory canal outgrowth. To characterize mutations in the 2 ras genes, mig-2 and cdc-42, marker transgenes were crossed into the mutant strains. The activated form of mig-2 caused a mild defect in excretory canal outgrowth. The deletion mutation in cdc-42 showed no defects in CAN migration or excretory canal outgrowth. A double mutant of mig-2(gm38) and mig-10(ct41) was also attempted to be constructed.
