A Study of Knowledge Bases

open in viewerThis study assessed the quality of the knowledge base on the WPI Hub and recommended improvements to make it more accessible for its end-users. Its quality was assessed by WPI community members who participated in surveys and usability tests to rate its ability to guide end-users through technological processes. Improvements were recommended and implemented into sample articles based upon feedback from these surveys and usability tests as well as primary research of knowledge bases from local universities. My proposed sample articles were then evaluated by focus groups of WPI community members for a quality check. This process showed the importance that transparency and navigation have in creating an effective knowledge base.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
