The role of CAD/CAM in machining

Public

The present tendency towards customer focused manufacturing, increased part complexity, dimensional tolerances and automation of metal cutting operations has resulted in a substantial use of CAD/CAM models and CNC machining. In this major qualifying project (MQP), two parts, which are vital to the semiconductor industry, are examined. A step-by-step construction of the part models using Pro/Engineer and Pro/Manufacturing is established. The outcome of our MQP project resulted in a substantial reduction of setup and machining time.
