This is a major qualifying project (MQP) of three seniors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). There's a wind turbine sitting on the roof of the Atwater Kent building on the WPI campus. We created a circuit that measures the curent and voltage being generated by the wind turbine, and wrote scripts to upload this data in real time. This data is presented in the form of graphs on the main page of this website. Every few minutes, the graphs are updated with the most recent data from the wind turbine.
The wind turbine was donated to the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department by National Grid in 2008.
Please see the technical information page for a detailed description of how we completed this project.
