PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis paper is a media study in which the Decadent femme fatale is found to be a central archetype in American pop culture. Beginning with the literature of the end of the nineteenth century, it follows the history of burlesque, pinups, and striptease as it establishes her ascendance in advertising and third-wave feminism as a key element in public discourse.
