Drug delivery using modified Dextran polymers in microemulsions
ÖffentlichRecent research has shown that emulsions, stabilized by a biocompatible surfactant, are a superior form of drug delivery, as compared to conventional forms. The hydrophobically-modified dextran polymer DexP20 can be used to form stable nujol oil and olive oil emulsions. Stable nujol oil emulsions up to 40%, and olive oil emulsions up to 30% can be created by varying the polymer concentration up to 40 g/L. Both nujol and olive oil emulsions display a controlled drug release rate, and are therefore an effective means of controlled drug delivery.
