Characteristics of a successful physics department in an engineering institution
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis Interactive Qualifying Project seeks to understand the general characteristics of successful physics programs within institutions which have strong engineering programs as measured by U.S. News and World Report's 2003 annual survey. The importance of total physics faculty size and the relative number of physics graduate students is highly significant for the rank and peer assessment of physics, engineering, and the institute as a whole. In addition to these and other general trends, comparisons with WPI are made where possible.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
